Love this idea and was doing well, now for two days can’t access the site?? What is the problem?

    • Lori  On November 8, 2012 at 3:55 pm

I have had the same problem, and I don’t know what is wrong. This is all posted using a WordPress site, and I wonder if they are doing upgrades with their servers? I’m not sure. I’m really sorry!

I have tried to contact wordpress to see if they can resolve the issue but can’t find any way to access their support people since I do not host a website. How can we fix this??

I will try to contact WordPress to see what can be done, but I wanted to find out a little more from you, first.

Since you have commented on the blog, you must be able to get to it *sometimes.* Is there any pattern, like you can’t access in the morning but evenings you can? Or is it random? Is it every day? Do you have trouble with any other site?

One other thing … the next time you try to pull up the website but aren’t able to, copy the page location and go to this page: http://www.downforeveryoneorjustme.com/

Paste my blog page in the box and see what it tells you. I’ve found this to be very helpful when I have repeated trouble accessing a site – sometimes it is my own local internet company having issues, sometimes it’s the servers for the webpage.

I’ll wait to hear back from you before I contact WordPress – thank you so much for following up and I hope we can figure this out! Lori

I can get as far as the page for the week and day-when I try to get week 2 day 11 this is the message I get. Obviously it worked fine for the first 10 days, now this.

The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few
    moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network
    connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure
that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

I tried your downforeveryone site. and it says it’s just me, but I’m at a loss for why. Every other site I bookmark and use works fine.

    Thanks for any help.

Just wanted you to know, I am now able to access the readings again, (hopefully I will have no further problems). Thanks again for this site-it inspires me each day. Fran

Thank you so much Lori for this site. I am only on week 2 but it is great. Three readings a day which I do morning, noon, and evening. It’s wonderful! Thanks again!

Thank you for this site to read the bible in a year. Love it! Is there a way that the next days readings can be bookmarked so that I can begin each new day with the next daily readings, without having to remember where I left off? Thanks again. God bless you for spreading His word!!

I know it can get hard to remember where you’re at! What I did was make the current week my homepage. For instance, if you are on week 2 right now, you can go under your settings and make “this” your home page. When you move on to week 3, go back under settings and make that one your home page. Another idea might be to mark your current week’s page as a “favorite” so you can quickly find it under favorites; just remember to delete it after you are done and mark the next one as you go. I hope you enjoy your year reading through the Bible – God bless you!
