Thank you for this work….God bless you!
This is wonderful. Thank you!
I am excited to join praying the bible in one year … so touched it is Catholic bible in one year! Yes!
Thank you for organizing this. We Catholics often didn’t grow up reading the Bible, and most Bible-reading plans don’t include the Apocrypha. So again, thank you!!
You are very welcome! I really had a lot of fun putting it together; I hope you are blessed as you read it all as much as I have been!
Lori, I’m thrilled to have found your site and excited to get started! I was a little confused and want to make sure I don’t miss anything! When I looked at week 1, day 1… For instance, Genesis 1 – 28, below the footnotes there is an opportunity to hit a ‘forward’ button… Do I hit the button for more reading? Or is that for more footnotes? It appears to take me to the next days readings, is that correct? Don’t want to miss a word!
Thank you and God bless you…
I think the “forward” button is a feature on the Bible Gateway website, to which I link. It isn’t related to the readings I have posted.
If you click the “forward” button at the bottom of the Genesis readings, it will take you only to the next chapter of Genesis. If you click the “forward” button at the bottom of the Psalm reading, it will take you to the next chapter of Psalms.
To get to the next day’s readings, you need to go back to the “Read the Catholic Bible in a Year” website and click the link there, in order to get all 3 readings (Old Testament, Psalm/Wisdom, New Testament).
I hope that makes sense – please let me know if it is only more confusing!
In His Love, Lori
Lori I hope I get Blessed from The Nativity through next year’s Nativity Celebration.
I just finished reading the Catholic Bible for 2011 and plan to read it again in 2012. Thank you for your help.
Thank you. My son was giving me readings from a protestant site, only starting in December. He also gave them to me late at night so I was too tired to read them. I know that they are missing books that our Bible has so I am thrilled about this. What would be really great would be a reading companion to go with the readings.
Praise be to God for a very Blessed New Year and that we focus on our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Finally found a Catholic version of reading the bible in a year!! Thank you thank you. Lord be with us all!
This is wonderful! Thank you~
thank you for do this great work, i have a question, it is posible to have this program in spanish?.
I am not able to do this in Spanish, but I did find this website where someone can download a copy of the Catholic Bible in Spanish for free. They could then follow the reading plan on their own computer: http://www.digitalcatholicbible.com/index.htm
I’m sorry I can’t be more help, but maybe this will work?
Thank-you for your work and for continuing to host these pages! Happy New Year!
I hope 2013 is a year of great blessings for you Lisa-Marie!
hello, can we use the same readings for 2013?
Absolutely! I set it up so that you can start it any time (doesn’t have to be Jan. 1) and if you follow the plan, you will read every word of the Bible in 365 days. Good luck and be blessed!
Do you have a print out for the yearly Bible read? It would be helpful when traveling and have no internet connection…..thank–you…..bill
Yes! The reading plan I used is found here:
http://www.chnetwork.org/readguide04.pdf I think it prints on a legal-size sheet front & back, so you may need to play with the print settings a little.
This is a blessing and a God given gift for the year 2013 the year of blessings and break ghrough.
Thank you Stella! I’ve been blessed many times over and hope you will be too!
Please share with me the daily literagical.
Hi Bertha – I’m not sure what you are asking for. If you mean the church’s daily readings, you can go to this web page each day to see them! http://new.usccb.org/bible/readings/011013.cfm
I hope that is what you are looking for!
Thanks for all your work on this, it is excellent! I started with this at the beginning of the year and am primarily reading on my iPhone. It would be useful to me if the links to all 365 days were on one page as I am lagging behind schedule a bit and I have to do a lot of clicking around on a small screen to find my place. Do you have any objection to making my own page of links to all 365 days, and if I do, could I post it on my parish website including a link to your site and a statement of credit for your work?
I have no objection whatsoever, and you don’t need to give any credit. I don’t use a smart phone so I didn’t realize it would be helpful to have all of the links on a single page – now I’m wondering if I should have another page to give people that option?
Hi Darick – I spent time this morning creating a page that has all of the readings on it. You’ll find it here: https://readthecatholicbibleinayear.wordpress.com/302-2/
I’d appreciate your feedback – should I create some kind of a break to make it easier to find your place? What would you suggest?
You can let me know when you have a moment.
Thank you! Lori
I am so happy that I discovered this site. It will be a blessing to read the bible in one year and May the Blessings of Almighty God be with you!
Welcome! I hope you are as blessed as I have been! ~Lori
I am so happy to have discovered this site. I began today and trust that 2014 will be a year of blessings from Our Savior.
Welcome! I’m so happy you have started and will pray for you today, that your journey through scriptures with the Holy Spirit is greatly blessed!
This is a great tool. Happy New Year and thanks!
You are very welcome! Happy New Year and I pray you are blessed!
Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you Lori! May God bless you!
You’re welcome, Leigh! Good luck and be richly blessed!
This is amazing Lori! Thank you! Have you thought about bringing this into an App form?
Hi Angie! I don’t know how to create an app. If someone else had the know-how, I would certainly help in any way I could! Did you see the link to a page with all the readings on one page? It’s at the top, just below the readings and above the weeks’ photo.
This is a wonderful contribution. God bless you. Is it possible to download the electronic form of Bible arranged as per the suggested reading plan to assist those that may not have internet all the time
Hi Magnus! I don’t have an electronic version to download, unfortunately. Have you ever heard of e-sword? It is free and you can download it to your desktop – I think the King James Version has the deuterocanonical books included. You could print out the reading plan from a website (like this one: http://www.chnetwork.org/readguide04.pdf ) and follow it even if you don’t have internet!
I did this “pilgrimage” a year and a half ago, and just started again on Sept 1. I learned so much the first time, and am looking forward to absorbing much more this time. Thank you for putting this online for us who know so little about the Bible. God bless you, and everyone who participates in this reading.
Welcome back, and may God bless you richly as you journey once again. I think one of my favorite things in the world is reading something familiar, but hearing it new and having an “aha!” moment. Thank you for taking time to comment!
Thankyou very much for this, it’s very good, God Bless you all. Thanks.
You’re welcome, Keki! God bless you as your spend time with Him.
I am grateful to you for all of your hard word. May Jesus richly bless you.
Thank you so much! I hope you are blessed as well as you spend time in His Word. ~Lori
Hi, Lori , i am a catholic and always wanted to read the Bible and get a better undetstandi understanding of the Bible, and wanted to know if you can get a understanding reading alone, i do read in my Bible, and i enjoy it want. Don’t have a study partner, can i do it alone. Beverly reaching out for help.
Hi Beverly! You don’t need a study partner. What this plan does is simply tell you what you need to read each day in order to read the entire Catholic Bible in one year.
What I like is that you will read scripture in order from start-to-finish (not bouncing around) so certain things will make sense in a way they haven’t before – you read a complete book in context. I also like that you are reading new testament and old testament at the same time; if one section is a little tedious, the other is still interesting.
I guess what I don’t like is some days there is a LOT of reading and when I am pressed for time a tend to skim through it. If you don’t care whether you actually complete this in one year, you can certainly slow it down a little! I also recommend journaling – you can be as brief or as detailed as you like, but just write something about what you read that day.
Other than that, there is no formal study with this plan. When I first started I really lacked discipline to read each day. If you already do, you’ve won half the battle! Now, though, I love to read every single day and am so blessed by it. I hope you will be too!
In His Love,
Lori
Could you please gove me a complete plan fo a year so that I can download and follow easily.
Thank you.
This has been here a while now but I am so glad I found it – I look forward to an amazing year (at least) of visiting this site. Thank you! yours with prayer
I guess it has been here a while! I didn’t realize it’s been over 4 years until you wrote that and I looked back. What a blessing this has been for me – I hope and pray that it is for you as well! God bless you.
Can this info b snt to roadrunner?
I’m sorry, but I don’t know! I am not a very tech-y person and I’m not sure what roadrunner is.
What a great find! Thank you Lori!
You’re most welcome! I hope and pray you are blessed as you begin this journey!
Thank you Lord for leading me here! I haven’t started yet but I’m trying how to.
I pray the LORD to bless you Manuel!
I won’t be doing this online, since I don’t always have signal, but I am writing down the week’s verses so that I can read them from the Bible I keep in the truck. Thanks for having this reference!
Joyce
If it would help, I used the reading plan from Coming Home Network. It looks like you have to create an account now to download the free reading plan, but it might be easier if you want to print it out and keep it on hand! Here is the website (you might have to copy & paste it):
http://www.chnetwork.org/free-resource-updated-version-of-our-read-the-bible-and-the-catechism-in-a-year-guide/
In any case, I’m glad you are making a plan and I pray you will be very blessed!
Lori
I’m an avid reader but have never read our gift that is the Catholic bible. Please pray I have the discipline to do so. I’ve always thought that if I die before I read it, I will be asked why I didnt. Thank you. So glad I found this site.
I am praying for you, Kimberley. I know you will be so very blessed as you read and I think it will become part of your daily routine more quickly than you expect!
Praise GOD for this site. I have never been able to get past all the ‘begats’ of Genesis, and would become discouraged with my inability to remember who was with who. This format makes it so much easier, and smarter. I like the way it flows and the way I’m able to make sense of the history of His life, before and after. I feel blessed that my parents raised me Catholic, but because of that, much is expected of me. Knowing His word, is the hallmark for everything that follows. I too want to rest for eternity, knowing I read His teaching. Thank you dear ones. ❤
Amen, Carol! Thank you for taking time to write – it really blessed my morning!
My pleasure. It is good to know you made a difference in a person’s day. Hopefully as we go along, there will be many more 🙂
Hey I have a serious suggestion:
Why don’t you include a calender we can check off as we move along? I get lost on what day I am on so for me it would be a very helpful tool. Thanks
I’m sorry, I don’t know how to create or add a calendar that you can check off! If you do now how please send me an e-mail: citizen1@mchsi.com and I’ll see what I can do! I hope the plan is otherwise going o for you!
Any way to synchronize this with The Catholic One Year Bible? When I travel I would like to read from my IPad and not pack the extra weight of the One Year Bible, book runs ahead of your sight.
I haven’t ever seen that Bible, but am interested and may track down a copy for myself. In theory I could create another site using their reading plan, but I surely wouldn’t have it complete in time to help you!
The first week it’s from the creation story to the flood. The Psalms were good my favorites on the Psalms are 4,5. And the beginning of Matthew was also cool.
I pray you find new favorites and treasures every single week as you read through! God bless you!
Thank you for your incredibly helpful and easily accessible setup! I love the simplicity of it. May God bless you abundantly!
You are very welcome, and thank you so much for taking time to write!
Thank you!
It is currently January 1, 2019. I am thankful to use this site, to read the Bible this year. This makes it easier, and I do not have to try to divide up readings myself. You have done this for us. Thank you. Blessings to al of you who are reading your bible in a year. ❤
I pray for all who are reading this year! I know you will be greatly blessed, thank you for sending a note and letting me know you will be reading!
I just found your site. I have wanted to read the Bible for awhile but always felt intimidated and not known where to start. Your plan makes me feel like I can do this and I am going to start today one week before my 46th birthday. Thank you!
I’m so happy to hear this, and pray you are greatly blessed! Thank you for letting me know you are starting, it blesses me to think about others who are reading at the same time I am even if we’re at a different spot.
Thank you for this beautiful & powerful tool! Blessings
Blessings to you as well Jeanne!
